Amber Lydic
Professional Horse Training
John and Josh Lyons Certified Trainer
Training Philosophy
Ambers training philosophy can be summed up with the following:
“Patience + Partnership = Performance”.

Having completed the John and Josh Lyons Certification Program in 2004, her training techniques incorporate all aspects of “conditioned response training method”. She believes and has experienced first hand the importance of building a solid, trusting, mutually respectful relationship between horse and rider. Creating this foundation is the key to training success and her goal is to help individuals master the process and have fun while doing so. No games or gimmicks, just good training that will turn your frustrations into confidence and control.

Whether you are working on collection and lightness to the aids in dressage, slowing the gaits of your western pleasure horse, building the confidence of your trail horse or beginning foundation training for you un-broke horse, all techniques learned will be a perfect complement to your overall training program. She believes in and is committed to ensuring that all will benefit from riding lessons and training sessions regardless of experience level or discipline.

The exercises and underlying principles are simple yet highly effective and the results are nothing short of amazing. Anyone who is a horse owner knows of the huge time and financial commitments that are required to maintain them. Horse ownership should be a fun, exciting and enjoyable experience. Amber’s goal is to empower students with the tools necessary to solve even the most difficult ‘problems’ that they may be experiencing with their horse. Learning the techniques to creating and maintaining and fun, effective and harmonious working partnership will ensure optimum performance and riding enjoyment for both you and your horse.

From the words of Josh Lyons

-Bad relationships with horses are similar to the bad relationships that people have with each other and are based on such emotional malaises as lack of communication, lack of trust, codependency and toxic emotions. Often these problems are rooted in the rider's attitude towards the horse. The horse, which is a simple creature, is often just a mirror image of the rider's own arrogance, frustration and exasperation. According to Josh Lyon's theories, a quieted, gratified horse will not only adjust its behavior, but also even exceed your expectations when it comes to obedience, roping, reining, dressage and performing in the arena.
